Suspended Diu runs at UGR <19 and CRI 90 in the lecture theatre and tutorial rooms, Diu Forma rings in the student hub and flat Tadao panels in the study rooms, all on DALI-2.

The hub wakes up softly.

Before the first lecture, two Diu Forma rings come up low and warm over the empty hub. Enough light to wipe down the tables, and to find a quiet seat on the stairs.

Students notice a well-lit place. So do visitors on open day.

Staff like working in it too.

Eyes on the front. No glare.

Long, straight Diu runs hang high and level above the tiers, parallel to the desks. With a glare rating of UGR <19, students looking down to the front see the lecturer, not the light.

Tunable white

Cool for focus. Warm for the evening lecture.

Tunable white lets the same Diu runs give a crisp, cool white for the morning's lecture and a softer, warmer light for the evening class.

A centre for the busiest room on campus.

Hung high in the double-height hub, Diu Forma rings give the room a centre people meet under. Made to order in ring, hexagon, triangle and rectangle shapes, at CRI 90.

14:00 · Tutorial

The moment it makes sense.

Two Diu runs follow the rows of tables in the tutorial room. At CRI 90, handwriting, diagrams and faces are clear across the table.

The student hub at 9pm with the glass wall closed and dark trees outside: the two Diu Forma rings are dimmed to a warm glow, each casting a soft pool on the floor, as two students with backpacks wave goodnight to each other.

21:00 · After hours

Down to a warm glow.

Late in the evening the rings come down low and warm over DALI-2: light enough to see the way out, quiet enough for a hub that has done its day.

Exam week at 10:30pm in the study room, the blind pulled down over the dark window: two students at the oak table, one highlighting a textbook and the other holding up a flashcard to quiz her, both laughing, under flat square Tadao panels in the ceiling.

Exam week, 22:30 · Late study

Long nights, easy on the eyes.

Blinds down, panels on. Flat, even Tadao light across the textbooks and flashcards, with no bright points to squint past at the end of a long night.

Set up once. Then it follows the campus.

Diu, Diu Forma and Tadao on one DALI-2 system. It can be set up with occupancy sensors that switch empty rooms off and daylight sensors that trim the runs by the windows, with scenes for the lecture, the exam and after hours.
