General installation

Avoiding damage during installation

An installer presses neon flex into a ceiling profile with the palm of the hand while an assistant feeds it off the reel. Close-ups show the luminous surface facing out, and a crossed-out twisted feed.

Installer

Press lightly with the palm of your hand slowly pushing the neon into the profile, noting to not bend the neon

Assistant

Slowly feed the neon off the provided reel, ensuring a straight smooth feed with no kinks or twists

Cutting directions

  1. Close-up of neon flex showing the transparent window and a black cut marker

The Neon Flex has a transparent window, with the black marker being the cut marker

  2. Specialised scissors cutting the neon flex vertically at the mark

Using specialized scissors (sold separately) cut vertically at the mark

  3. Three drawings of neon flex cut at an angle, each marked with a red cross

Ensure a straight clean cut is made, and not to cut at an angle to cause damage to the product

Please note: cutting neon flex should only be used for indoor application and will void any IP ratings.

Using solder-free cable feed

  1. Cable feed kit parts laid out in a row next to the cable feed and a length of neon flex

The Kit includes the following from left to right: Aligner, Orange Clip, Clear Clip, End Cap, Silicone Gasket, Spacer Clip

  2. Spacer clip being slid into the cut end of the neon flex, highlighted with a red box

Slide the Space Clip into the Neon Flex between the LED Board & Silicone

  3. Clear end cap being slid over the end of the neon flex

Slide the End Cap over the Neon Flex, ensuring a snug tight fit. The Gap in the plastic should be at the bottom of the Neon Flex

  4. Silicone gasket fitted over the two prongs of the cable feed

Insert the Silicone Gasket over the Cable Feed prongs

  5. Cable feed being pushed into the end cap on the neon flex

Insert the Cable Feed into the Neon Flex, with the power prongs sitting underneath the LED Board

  6. Aligner held against the end cap and cable feed

Use the Aligner to correctly space the clips for the next steps. Once aligned, it can be put aside as it is not used for the finished product

  7. Clear clip being pushed into the end cap

Push the Clear Clip into the gap on the on the bottom of the end cap, this is for structural purposes

  8. Orange clip being slid between the end cap and the cable feed

Rotate the Neon Flex, 180°. With the space created at the end of the Neon Flex by the Aligner in Step. 6, slide the orange clip in between the End Cap & Cable Feed

  9. Finished cable feed joint with the orange clip in place

The finished product should look like this. Gently pull on the wire to ensure a tight snug fit has been achieved.

Using solder-free end cap

  1. End cap kit parts laid out in a row next to a length of neon flex

The Kit includes the following from left to right: Aligner, Orange Clip, End Stop, Clear Clip, End Cap, Silicone Gasket

  2. Silicone gasket placed on the cut end of the neon flex

Place the Silicone Gasket on the end of the Neon Flex where you have cut

  3. Clear end cap being slid over the neon flex

Slide the End Cap over the Neon Flex, ensuring a snug tight fit. The Gap in the plastic should be at the bottom of the Neon Flex

  4. End stop being inserted into the end cap

Insert the End Stop into the End Stop

  5. Aligner held against the end cap

Use the Aligner to correctly space the clips for the next steps. Once aligned, it can be put aside as it is not used for the finished product

  6. Clear clip being pushed into the end cap

Push the Clear Clip into the gap on the on the bottom of the end cap, this is for structural purposes

  7. Orange clip being slid into the end cap

Rotate the Neon Flex, 180°. With the space created at the end of the Neon Flex by the Aligner in Step. 6, slide the orange clip in between the End Cap & Cable Feed

  8. Finished end cap with the orange clip in place

The finished product should look like this. Gently pull on the wire to ensure a tight snug fit has been achieved.
