A hotel guest room at night: a king bed against an oatmeal headboard with a hidden line of warm Hyperion 10 light washing the walnut wall above it, a small black Vermeer wall light above each bedside table, and two small Esuna trimless downlights flush in the plaster ceiling.

Warm from the front desk to the pillow.

Wall lights at the door, pendants at reception and the bar, a line of light to the room, reading lights by the bed, sealed downlights in the shower.

Blue-hour dusk at a boutique hotel entrance: a doorman in a charcoal overcoat greets an arriving guest in a grey wool coat with a leather weekender bag at tall bronze-framed glass doors, two potted olive trees beside them, and a black cylindrical Vermeer wall light on the travertine either side of the doors washing the stone with matching beams up and down.

17:15 · Arrival

The welcome starts at the kerb.

Up-and-down Vermeer wall lights wash the travertine both ways, made for outdoor walls and rendering the stone at CRI 90.

A receptionist with long braids handing a key card across a walnut and travertine desk to a guest in a grey coat, under three slim white Kahlo pendants hung high in a straight line in front of a tall travertine wall.

17:30 · Check-in

Welcome, in a pool of light.

Three slim pendants hung high over the desk put the light on the welcome and the faces, at CRI 90.

Guests feel it as they arrive. Staff like working in it.

A guest with long platinum hair in a camel trench coat pulling a small black suitcase down a long hotel corridor of oatmeal grasscloth and walnut doors, a straight line of warm white Hyperion 10 light running along the skirting on both sides and a row of small Esuna trimless downlights down the centre of the ceiling.

17:40 · The way up

A line of light to follow.

A 10x10mm line of Hyperion 10 runs along each skirting, and small trimless downlights mark the way to the door.

Tunable white

Arrive bright. Stay warm.

Fresh, clear white for unpacking, warm white for the evening. The downlights, the headboard line and the reading lights all tune together.

A guest with long platinum hair in a camel trench coat sitting on the end of a hotel bed beside her suitcase, the room filled with crisp cool white light from two Esuna trimless downlights, the line of light behind the headboard and the Vermeer wall lights.

Also available in a fixed 3000K or 4000K.

Beam angles

A dot in the ceiling.

Esuna is plastered in with no trim, a Ø 85mm opening and nothing else, in 15°, 24°, 36° and 60° beams.

Diagram of one trimless downlight with its 15°, 24°, 36° and 60° beams drawn to scale on a wall.

Dinner downstairs. Then the long bath.

A lively hotel bar at night: a bartender in a leather apron laughs as he pours a cocktail for three guests on walnut stools, under five slim white Kahlo pendants in a straight line, with a straight line of warm white Hyperion 10 light under each walnut shelf of bottles and under the bar top.

20:30 · The bar

A glow under every shelf.

Slim Kahlo pendants pool warm light on the bar top, and a line of Hyperion 10 under each shelf lights the glass from below, at CRI 90.

A hotel bathroom at night: a walk-in stone shower with a brass rain head, two small white Geber 65 downlights over the shower casting warm cones through faint steam, a third over the walnut vanity and a white robe on a hook.

IP65

Sealed for the steam.

Over the shower, Geber is sealed to IP65, so the warm light can fall straight through the water.

Late evening in the hotel room: the guest with long platinum hair, now in white pyjamas, sits up on the bed reading a hardback and smiling, in the warm glow of the line of light behind the headboard, the black Vermeer reading lights on the wall either side of the bed and two small Esuna downlights dimmed low.

22:45 · One more chapter

Light on the page.

Each Vermeer beside the bed is aimed down at its own side, so one of you can read while the other sleeps.

A bright morning in the hotel breakfast room: a family laughing over croissants and coffee at a round walnut table, an older woman smiling over tea at the next, and a waiter carrying a tray, under slim white Kahlo pendants over the tables and two rows of small Esuna trimless downlights giving fresh, crisp white light.

07:30 · Breakfast

Fresh white for the morning.

Esuna tunes to crisp, fresh white for breakfast, with pendants over the tables and colour true at CRI 90.
