Suspended Diu runs at CRI 90 and UGR <19, with Geber downlights over the library nook, all on DALI-2.

Children with backpacks and drink bottles stream into the bright classroom through the door as their teacher in a mustard cardigan greets them; the three suspended white Diu linear lights are already on high above the empty desks, with a small presence sensor on the ceiling.

Lights on before the first bag drops.

A DALI-2 presence sensor sees the first children through the door and brings the Diu runs up. Nobody hunts for a switch.

Every colour, true.

At CRI 90, the cobalt, coral and sunflower yellow on the page look the same under the lights as they will on the fridge at home.

The recess bell rings. The lights take the hint.

The same classroom empty at recess, chairs tucked under the desks: the three suspended Diu linear lights and the library-nook downlights are switched off, and the room is lit only by daylight from the tall windows.

Empty room. Lights off.

Once the room has emptied, the sensor lets the Diu runs fade down and switch off on their own. When the class comes back in, so does the light.

Children like a room this bright. Parents notice it at the door.

Teachers like working in it, and it reflects well on the school.

14:00 · The library nook

Bright enough to read by.

Small Geber downlights, set high in the ceiling, light the whole nook evenly. With a glare rating of UGR <19, children looking up from the book see soft light, not a bright point.

The same classroom after school, chairs upside down on the desks, a cleaner in a navy polo mopping the floor between them under the three suspended Diu linear lights at full brightness.

16:30 · After the last bell

Full light for the clean.

The last bell can call up a cleaning scene with every Diu run at full. When the cleaner leaves, the sensor switches the room off.

Control

Set up once. Then it runs the day.

The DALI-2 system can be set up to follow the school day: presence sensors switch the lights on and off, a light sensor trims the runs by the windows when the sun is out, and a link to the bell system calls up the lesson, recess and cleaning scenes on time. Or simply on and off.
